SeeYou At The Top!

I joined a group of mountaineers to climb Pico de Loro years ago.
when we started , there were more than a hundred of us. Midway through the climb, half of us were turning back I was a newbie who did not even prepare physically for such a strenuous task

But in my mind, I wanted to see the mountaintop. The terrain got tougher as we trekked further. It was a mistake to wear shorts.

The small branches were poking into my skin and my legs were bruised. I could see some blood but it did not bother me.

My desire to get a mountaintop view was stronger than the discomfort I was feeling. I was tired… my water bottle was running low. I would rest for some time, then continue. When we were almost at the top, there was one major obstacle. A big boulder of which I had to swing myself from one side to the other and only a small branch to hold on to. I looked down and realized what I got myself into. Falling would be death if not debilitating. I muster my strength swinging myself across the.boulder then pushed myself up. I continued my trek and reached the mountain top.

Was it worth it to go through hours of walking to see the top? For myself , I saw a magnificent view. It was breathtaking. I understood why the word was coined in the first place .

It was not just the the mountaintop that I saw. But a sense of exhilaration that I felt for being able to do something I set my heart on.

There were only a handful of us who were there at the top. A foreigner asked me, “How did you do it? Down there, , we thought you would not make it. “ they saw me tired and catching my breath. I replied… one step at a time.”

Take one step at a time . People don’t think it’s possible. People are turning back… obstacles abound . There are setbacks But to those people whose desire is as strong as mine.
