When I was new in Reliv and advancing in ranks, one distributor told me that my upline was lucky to have me as a downline, let me share you my Upline’s journey to get my attention to do network marketing.
I was more of an administration person than into marketing 20 years ago when I started. I was aversed to network marketing. Why? Because at that time, scams was associated to network marketing and many people lost money joining binarys.
I don’t know if it’s luck or just God guiding me to the right network marketing company and the right upline.
When I signed up for Reliv to enjoy the 20% discount, my upline would visit my office and bring me food, so I would patiently listen to hear him share Reliv stories. He brought siopao. It would be rude to shoo him away when I took the food. It was almost a daily visit, one could mistake it for courtship, it was courtship but not of a girl but of a downline. I thought I don’t know anything about selling. He told me that if I wanted to talk to someone, he would accompany me, and I tested it. I brought him to go meet someone. He did go, but it did not work. The person was not interested. I did not understand how to qualify people. Then my boss came to town and told me that my office would be closed by the end of the month. I was retrenched! And at that time I just got into a contract to purchase a 3-bedroom condo, being out of a job was a problem.
Before my retrenchment, my upline suggested I quit my job to do Reliv full time. I refused. Then retrenchment happened. My upline stood up after I told him I lost my job, his reply really upset me. He said I’m going to call my wife to tell her the good news. OMG!
He is happy that I lost my job. His next remark got me thinking, he said, whether you like it or not you will do Reliv. I asked you to quit your job, but you don’t want. God is making a way to make you do this. That got me thinking, If Reliv is in God’s purpose for my life, the next thing I did was pray. My prayer was I don’t know how to do this, grant me wisdom to do it, and cause the right people to fall into place. When I was new, I thought doctors were good prospects because they can prescribe Reliv and patients will do as they say, so i thought of who amongst my batchmates were doctors. I made a point to visit an Ear, Nose Throat (ENT) doctor classmate in his home, but he was not home. I talked to his wife, since she was on the heavy side, I offered her Ultrim, Reliv’s weight loss product which was a meal replacement drink. I sold her at retail because my goal at that time was to earn my reliv consumption and my P450 sign up fee. I thought, retail price has a 30-day money back guarantee in case she will not get results, I don’t need to lie to the company that I gave it on non member price, my profit level was only 20% at that time. My frontline really followed instructions on meal replacement such that she was losing weight every week in front of everyone so the product was working. I remember she asked me why I was not signing her up yet. I wanted her to get results before signing up. I think that was the right thing to do so she can avail of 20% off. Upon sign-up, my upline learnt about my frontline and started reaching out to her. And my frontline was moving her profit level each month, being her upline, if she moves to 25%, i would also be at 25%, then next level, until my upline had a talk with me. My frontline was going for 40%, there is a rule in Reliv, a 40% cannot be the downline of an upline who is not at 40% but I did not have the money to buy the volume of a 40%. There is a piggyback mechanism which my upline explained to me. I needed just a volume of about P18k to piggyback. I can afford P18k so I bought it because I was confident I could sell or consume it. My upline then talked to me about doing things right, unauthorized discount was a problem then because there are customers who would shop around for discounts. Since I was already at 40%, even if I sell at 30%, I still earn 10%. But this would make it impossible for a new distributor at 20% to earn. I remember someone told me that she was already buying at 20% off. If I sell to her at 30% off, she would buy from me. To do that is a clear violation of Reliv company policy. As a principle and being a christian, I don’t like doing violations. So I made Master Affiliate (MA) which is what a distributor at 40% is called.
My frontline started getting reliv checks, one time I visited her and she happily asked me if I am receiving Reliv checks because she was. I was not, so I asked my upline why is it my downline was getting a check but I was not. He explained the monthly maintenance of 2000 points requirement to earn overrides. An MA has to do maintenance to earn overrides on an MA downline. One has to maintain 2000 volume per month, so I had to set that goal again, my strategy was to look for 3 quick starts to go 25%, a quick start is 700 points then. 3 x 700 points would be 2100 points, so that will meet required 2000 points maintenance. I was told to replace my monthly corporate salary of P30k, I had to talk to 5 persons a day which I did. I would look for 5 persons to talk to about reliv in a day, and doing that I hit Key Director in 3 months time. Key Director (KDR) is when one hit a P30k check in one month, I was also given a $200 KDR bonus. I made more than P30k in one month which was more than my salary.
My upline started talking to me again. He said if my check will hit P120k in one month, I would qualify for a Malaysia trip for 2. I just took a mental note of it but did not think it would happen. I signed up my second frontline who was a top producer for a pre-need plan. He complained about his cholesterol in our Bible study group so I shared to him about trying Reliv products to help his cholesterol. He agreed for me to bring the product to his home. I showed him how to take it and he took it and got good results with cholesterol and hemorrhoids. I hit Master Director to qualify for KL trip and my reliv check was over P120k.
Once a year, a Master Affiliate is required to requalify for 40% which means in one month, one should at least generate the required MA volume or else one will revert to 35%. If one loses MA status, all the MA downlines will compress to an MA upline. Reliv has a rule - an MA cannot be the downline of a none-MA , that is why I don’t encourage people who are not serious about doing Reliv as a business to go Master Affiliate.
I suffered stroke in 2014 and I stopped working for 7 years, my upline was monitoring my MA requalification to ensure I don’t lose my MA status. I was able to requalify for 7 years without bringing in a new customer nor new downline. For this, I am grateful to my upline’s wife who was looking after my distributors. I asked her why she did it. She said because she knows I would return to doing Reliv. I got a P600k Reliv check in August 2021, which was my accumulated income for 6 years. At that time, I asked why God gave me money since I was not really in need of money. Later I am to understand that I got that check to confirm that Reliv is a real business. It also gave me the reason why I have to get back to work on my reliv business. My question in my mind was I got a P600k check. How about my downlines? Did any of my downlines also got P600k (about USD12k) No. Why not? I felt I failed as an upline in helping my downlines understand Reliv as a business. This is what made me agree to work on my reliv business again. I decided to look for my downlines to help them understand that it only takes to duplicate what an upline does to duplicate the upline’s check. At the very least, everyone should be able to earn consumption for free, and hopefully hit the 6-figure income in USD. I am hoping my downlines will understand the principle of multiplication to share Reliv and give to the Kalogris Foundation to help feed poor and malnourished children. The mission is really the driver to share reliv. We are here to Nourish Our World.

my upline’s highest reliv check was over P850 k in one month, a big% of thst check came from my line.
